  1. Hey Gerald, as always, thx so much for your great online resource of knowledge!!! ๐Ÿ˜€ Two quick questions: 1. What's been your experience of the Smallrig 2006 baseplate. I was just about to buy this today for my setup but then I saw the reviews… Users complain of a dangerous design flaw and say to avoid getting it. I then typed this small rig model name into YouTube and โ€“ low and behold โ€“ your video came up. What's great about this plate is that the locking lever is flush with the plate. That's so important for my setup and I haven't been able to find any alternative. Question number 2: Intrigued by your "less than 10 second rig". Have you tried this rig with bigger lenses and focus motors? How's the wiggle on the lens? (Assuming you'd add lens support, potential mount support and matte box support). If you have a moment, please let know and wishing you a great continuation of your week! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. Hi, I tried to rebuild this rig, but turns out the NATO rail for the nato handle as well as the screw / washer combination for mounting the cheese plate was not in your list. Could you tell me which parts you used exactly?

  3. You mentioned that the QR plate with the half cage will not quite fit into the Ronin-S. Can you use the Ronin-S QR plate with this cage? Since the Ronin plate must therefore be a bit on the small side right? I'm currently using my Ronin-S plate with both the Ronin and other tripods, monopods etc.
    Great video as always.

  4. So I ordered everything in the list using your links, all from Amazon. But the Manfrotto QR Baseplate (small rig) was not the 2006, ended up with a different style ๐Ÿ™ Also what length screws did you use on the cheese plate extension? Your biggest fan, this is Stan

  5. Gerald, thanks for your videos, so helpful! Do you think this setup can work with the 24-70 2.8 GM or 16-35 2.8 from sony ? I wonder because these lenses go below the bottom of the camera ?

  6. @gerald undone great video just hate that you pointed out something I didnโ€™t even know I needed lol. Could you tell me the small rig part number for the washer and screws used to put the cheese plate on? Ordered it today but cheese plate turned up with nothing else. Thanks.

  7. This is awesome man, thank you for putting it together! I'm working on my own solution to change between: Photo mode>Tripod mode>Gimbal mode. This video really helped put things in perspective.

  8. This is the rig I was waiting for! The idea of tossing lots of money at random expensive lego parts (not throwing shade, those parts just add up quickly) and hoping they all worked together nicely was never too comforting. I'd actually love one of your comprehensive in depth videos just on the difference between rigging options. As a pro video editor who is getting into shooting and rigging more, I'm struggling to find a comprehensive and trustworthy source of information. So many of the videos are "this exact setup worked this exact way and I loved it" but dont talk about cross compatibility or the "ecosystem" if you will of arca/manfroto/what have you.

    thanks for this!
