  1. The K10D was my first DSLR, followed by my K100D Super. I have a lot of old Pentax glass, and I love both of my cameras. I have added another camera brand to my arsenal, but I’m not abandoning my Pentax gear whatsoever. I don’t like how the company is being bashed these days, however, for being behind the curve. I just wish Pentax would step it up a bit. EXCELLENT VID; SUBSCRIBED!

  2. Nice! Just took mine out of mothballs last night to use as the garden run around camera. I have the Pentax 35mm f/2.4 plastic lens on it. This camera had sensor stabilisation way back then.

  3. Nice review and some very nice images! The K100D Super was actually my first DSLR, and I chose it because I had several K mount lenses from my Pentax film SLR camera bodies. I had two of them and I totally agree with your comments on image quality. One perhaps not so well know thing about this camera is it has a somewhat weak UV/IR cut filter which means that you can get an IR filter like a 720 or 870 nm and take IR pictures with it using a tripod and maybe 2 second exposures. Now I'm using a K5 and K5 iis but when I look back at RAW files from the K100D's on my hard drives, I think the images stand up well in comparison for computer monitor display purposes. With some of the great, inexpensive used lenses you often review, for $100 it'd be a great first DSLR for someone.

  4. My first digital DSLR, I love the CCD sensor output from camera and the placements of the controls were right on. Fast forward to my K1 now, still missed that K100 though.

  5. I bought this camera for my son in 2006 as he was going to the world Boy Scout Jamboree in England . He still owns the camera as well as a K50. I believe this was Pentax first camera with Pentax IBIS a upgrade over my *istDL I bought the year before which I still use.

  6. I snagged a K5 a while ago for 300 Canadian dollars, with a lens. It might be the cheapest camera I've ever bought, but it's also got the best build quality and fastest continuous shooting of any camera I've ever owned…it cost less than a Canon flash lol.

  7. That's a really interesting note about ISO, since modern cameras boast higher ISOs but the highest is never as high as you'd actually want to go. Just seems kinda made up for marketing. But here, the highest is actually usable. Anyway, good shots and thoughts! I always find in fun to see what you've picked up lately and what you've done with it.
