Cinematic Look with the Canon SL2 (200d) – Tutorial

The Canon SL2, or 200d depending on where you’re from, has been one of the most popular Canon DSLRs. While considered a beginner camera, this light and portable DSLR is a very powerful creative tool.

In this tutorial, I will show you how to get cinematic footage from the Canon SL2 #200d. We will look at things like framerates, aperture, shutterspeed, iso, picture profiles and much more and work to get the cinematic look we all want.

I’ll show you all the settings you need to get a flat image to begin with which will then let you grade your #canon #sl2 footage and style it just the way you want.

  1. What's up everyone?! I hope this cinematic SL2 tutorial was helpful. I love how powerful this camera is for the price. A lot of people dismiss it as a beginner camera, but I think the results are pretty good. Let me know what you think!!

Was there too much detail? Not enough? What did you like, and also, what did you not like? What would you like to see more of? Would love to know what you think, good or bad. I am grateful in advance 🙏

  2. Great Tutorial, I have (5) SL2's that I use for Podcasts, Commercials, Documentaries and streaming. The videos that you are tapping on this camera have shorten the learning curve for me TREMENDOUSLY! Thank You and keep up the great work.

  3. Great video thanks a lot. Just a quick question I just started real estate photography and I'm adding video I I have a canon SL2 would you still think that's good enough for real estate video to start up with thanks again Mikael

  4. Btw Mr, could I make a suggestion of a tutorial? I've bought the canon sl2 and then I bought a tripod that has also a monopod, so could you do a sort of tutorial talking about ways of using a tripod and monopod doing photography(Ik you have already one, but about monopod for video) And also I would really love to see a general tutorial of making videos, like a more deep tutorial as the one of cinematic look, talking about composition, editing, … Thanks so much for your job and keep it up Mr!!!🤟🤟

  5. Thank you for your videos, I would like to make videos about my jewelry creation activity, mainly in the workshop, but with storytelling and some outdoor scenes to separate the different sequences. I want to give them a cinematographic aspect, thank you, all this series will help me a lot.

  6. Hey it's probably too late but I want to buy a camera for filming outfits and fashion in the street/city. Should I buy the sl3 or sl2? Thanks from France.

  7. Wow now this is one of the best tutorials I have ever seen! I’ve had the SL2 roughly about a year now and had been struggling to get better footage, I am definitely making sone changes! Thanks!!

  8. I found a used camera shop where I’m gonna buy an SL2 for $350 in excellent condition. All of these tutorials will definitely help me use the camera properly, thank u

  9. This video was amazing. I have an EOS200D and was already worried my camera is too bad for low light conditions. But your explanationsreally helped me from a very bad video quality with a lot of noise to a perfect video quality, even in very dark situation with high contrast and awesome cinematic look. I struggled the whole day before finding your video. Thanks a lot, you saved my day! I have my camera already 2 years but never figured out how to have good quality, so I kept using my smartphone as it was way better. Now with the correct settings I can see the difference. Wow!!! On point your explanations! Thanks!

  10. One of the best, fastest, straight to the point tutorials I have ever seen. And also includes links to everything mentioned. Wow!!! If only all tutorials were like this one. Thank you so much. I just subscribed.

  11. Omg I’ve had my SL2 for 3 years . Used it in auto mode and wish I had a clue on what the hell your talking about . I hate myself !!!!! Bought the camera for YouTube , which has gone no where lol. But I enjoy my camera. I actually bought my first lense last week , the canon 50mm 1.8 ( start small ) I will continue to watch all your tutorials as I really want to learn . Much love from the UK
